The Red Balloon (1956)

Action, Comedy, Drama, Family, Fantasy

What started as yet another ordinary day at school paved the way for an unexpected and equally exciting adventure when wide-eyed Pascal freed a glossy, helium-filled, bright-red balloon that had got tangled up with a lamppost. And, as tentativeness turned into trust, the two became inseparable. But now, amid the grey, rain-soaked streets of 1950s Ménilmontant, greed sparks feelings of envy and rivalry among the neighbourhood's children. Is little Pascal's happiness doomed to be short-lived?—Nick Riganas
