Wandering the busy streets of Paris, the defrocked former priest, Mathis Vogel, is convinced that he is on a holy mission from God: rid the world of sin. With this in mind, while having faith in his supposed gift to expel demons, murderous Vogel infiltrates a Black Mass, where the depraved hosts simulate torture to satisfy their thrill-seeking guests. Now, persuaded that the participants are possessed by the devil, Vogel decides to purify them according to the terrifying rites of the Spanish Inquisition. Is there an escape from the clutches of the sadist of Notre Dame?—Nick Riganas
